Welcome to the home of lambda.txt, the collection of fortune cookies with the lambda nature. This collection was originally derived from the file DSK:COMMON;LINS > on the MIT ITS machines used by the LOGOUT program, and available here as lins.463. The lambda.txt file has been enhanced with additions from BSD fortune(6), comp.lang.lisp, #lisp, and many other disreputable sources. You may send new cookies for inclusion to the maintainer listed in the file, but please check that your cookie is not a duplicate first, and try to ensure that it has sufficient lambda nature.
Installation instructions for typical Unix systems are given in the file. A pregenerated lambda.dat file is available; if it doesn't work with your fortune(6) then try the instructions.
